Building Quality Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you play a key role in the construction team and are accountable for the effective management and operational delivery of the building quality process post-handover.

You will be responsible for managing quality assurance by reviewing and managing post hand over building quality matters (defects and warranty claims) and ensuring the delivery of high-level customer service.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and inspecting construction quality assurance issues such as non-compliance with standards.
  • Managing clients through their post hand-over process and communicate with clients about resolving any outstanding issues.
  • Providing feedback, reports and statistics around quality issues and maintenance costs and highlight issues to Construction Manager.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in professional quality control/quality assurance in the construction sector, with a trade background being beneficial.

You will also have:

  • Understanding of the building and construction industry and construction processes
  • Strong knowledge of the National Construction Code and Australian standards
  • Demonstrated high level skills in organisation, construction inspection, and record keeping
  • Strong customer service focus with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people and build positive relationships
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Hold a Current Driver’s License

Planning Officer

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of new housing files through the development approval process. You will deliver a high level of customer service through regular communication with regards to the progress of submissions and approvals as well as applying a proactive approach to task completion using our workflow management software.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and lodging all required planning applications to gain approvals within the set time frames
  • Liaising with external stakeholders such as councils, surveyors, conveyancers, service providers etc to ensure all approval milestones are achieved
  • Liaising with customers throughout the development approval process to update them on submissions
  • Providing a high standard of customer support by answering queries and resolving any concerns
  • Updating and maintaining all documentation for each build

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a high level of initiative and strong problem-solving skills and will be passionate and committed to delivering successful outcomes for our customers and business.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service/administrative position
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the Planning process, building and construction industry is desirable
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiations skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds
  • A strong customer service focus with the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to work productively within a team environment and maintain effectiveness in different situations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate level of skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and email)

Site Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be accountable for effectively managing the delivery of builds across multiple dwellings and locations in the Central, North East and Country North areas of Adelaide in accordance with expected build timeframes and within contract specifications and budget.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Effective planning, managing, coordinating, and tracking the progress of construction jobs, ensuring both customer management and quality management standards are maintained at all times.
  • Manage and coordinate call ups, trade allocations, and site deliveries in accordance with expected schedules.
  • Oversee the completion of on-site work to time and quality standards and in accordance with agreed rates.
  • Manage costs on each build to achieve costing targets.
  • Manage the building quality assurance programme in conjunction with the Construction Manager and Assistant Construction Manager.
  • Work closely with the Building Support Coordination Team to utilise systematic communication channels to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Ensure all sites are WHS compliant with site management plans.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven understanding of residential construction processes together with an ability to work with new builds at volume whilst problem solving and driving outcomes.

You also will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a construction site management or project management role in the housing and construction industry
  • Building Contractors License / or at minimum Building Supervisors licence (class 1 and 2 up to 3 storeys)
  • Knowledge and application of the National Construction and Australian Standards codes
  • Skilled in communicating, monitoring, and reaching volume targets and milestones
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and budget
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse range of people and build positive relationships
